One WWE star was released after expressing unhappiness over not being used at WrestleMania

There were some backstage details provided on the recent WWE talent releases that were said to be because of budget cuts.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while most of the people who were cut weren’t being used, one person had outwardly expressed that they were unhappy with their spot in the company and more specifically about not being part of WrestleMania.

Kalisto expressed unhappiness over being part of a group that was booked to be a joke on the undercard and he wanted to be taken out of the Lucha House Party stable. Meltzer noted that Kalisto was booked to split away from the group as a way to pacify him but there were no plans to do anything with them. Kalisto was in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal but he was not booked for WrestleMania.

It was not said which wrestler was released because they were unhappy about not being at WrestleMania but it’s worth noting that Peyton Royce cut an unscripted promo on Raw Talk a few weeks before her release about not getting opportunities to move up. Royce’s mother suggested on her Twitter account that Charlotte Flair should give others a chance to be featured at WrestleMania.

Flair is back on TV in a storyline where she talks about the people in the company who are jealous of her success. Royce was not booked for a match at Mania.
