Opening Match Revealed For WWE Deadline

WWE NXT has solidified the lineup for this Saturday’s Deadline Premium Live Event in San Antonio, Texas. The company announced two new matches and clarified the placement of a major title bout during Tuesday’s go-home edition of NXT on the CW Network.

NXT North American Champion Ethan Page will defend his title against AAA’s Mr. Iguana. The match was made official after Iguana stole Page’s car from the NXT parking lot on Thursday’s show, escalating their feud into a championship grudge match. Additionally, the women’s division will see a grudge match of its own as Tatum Paxley takes on Izzi Dame. This bout stems from Dame turning on Paxley at NXT Gold Rush last month, a betrayal that cost Paxley the NXT Women’s Championship.

It was confirmed on Tuesday’s broadcast that the NXT Championship match between Ricky Saints and challenger Oba Femi will open the Deadline broadcast. In other news regarding the event’s signature stipulation, Myles Borne secured a significant advantage for the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. By pinning his opponent in the eight-man tag team main event on Tuesday, Borne earned the right to choose his entry position in the match, which will determine the new number one contender for the NXT Title.

Updated NXT Deadline Card:

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Myles Borne vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Joe Hendry vs. Dion Lennox vs. Leon Slater

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Kendal Grey vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Sol Ruca vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice

NXT North American Championship: Ethan Page (c) vs. Mr. Iguana

NXT Championship: Ricky Saints (c) vs. Oba Femi

Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame
