Original Plans For Dominik Mysterio On WWE Raw Revealed

Dominik Mysterio is not medically cleared and did not appear on WWE Monday Night Raw, with Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reporting that he is believed to be in concussion protocol following his AAA Rey de Reyes appearance this past weekend.

Alvarez reported that Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee was originally scheduled for Raw but was replaced by an Intercontinental Championship match between Penta and Dragon Lee after Mysterio’s medical situation emerged. “Dom vs. Dragon Lee was scheduled for Raw but it appears Dom is in concussion protocol,” Alvarez wrote.

Mysterio’s absence also impacted a planned segment involving The Judgment Day. The group had been scheduled to appear on Raw to address their actions from the previous week, when they assaulted Finn Balor and kicked him out of the faction. With Mysterio unavailable, Liv Morgan appeared via video to explain the group’s actions in his place.

Morgan said it had always been her plan to remove Balor from the group since she joined, stating he was never in charge and had always been on borrowed time. She added that she knew he was scheming against the group and that it was a pleasure to watch him fall. Morgan concluded by saying The Judgment Day was better than ever without Balor.

Mysterio competed at AAA Rey de Reyes this past weekend in a high-stakes No Disqualification match against El Hijo Del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship. The match featured multiple weapon spots and outside interference before Mysterio retained the title. Had Mysterio lost, he would have been permanently banned from AAA. With the victory, Vikingo is now barred from challenging for the AAA Mega Championship as long as Mysterio holds it. Mysterio was seen sharing bloody injury photos on Instagram following the match, showing a significant head wound sustained during the bout.

Last week, WWE set up Mysterio vs. Finn Balor for WrestleMania 42, scheduled for April 18 and 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the Judgment Day turned on Balor. No official update on his condition or WrestleMania status has been provided by WWE. We wish him a speedy recovery.
