Original plans for AJ Styles in the Royal Rumble, update on when he’ll be on the road full-time

The original plan for AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble was for Dean Ambrose to eliminate him. That was changed and Kevin Owens ended up eliminating Styles. That was a good move on their part because Styles got a great reaction when he entered the match and they would have risked having Ambrose booed by the crowd for eliminating him. Owens was probably the best choice.

Styles will not be on this weekend’s house shows because he needs to finish up with his independent commitments. He is scheduled for a show in Georgia on Friday for Premier Wrestling. He will be on the road full-time with WWE starting with the show in Fresno on 2/13 and the show in Bakersfield on 2/14.
