Original plans for Hit Row on WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Hit Row made their SmackDown debut on Friday’s episode after being moved from NXT 2.0 to the main roster as part of this year’s WWE Draft.
On the show, Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott and Top Dolla teamed up to defeat two local competitors.
This wasn’t what WWE originally had planned for them on this show. Instead, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted on Twitter that they were slated to take on Jinder Mahal and Shanky.
As of this writing, there’s no word on why WWE changed from Mahal and Shanky to the local talent.
It was reported yesterday that WWE plans to use Top Dolla as a singles star while Scott and Ashante Thee Adonis will be a tag team.
Jinder & Shanky were listed internally as Hit Row's opponents, which obviously didn't end up being the case. We'll work to find out why it was changed. Seems like this went better
