Dave Meltzer has revealed the original plans for Nikki Bella on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, which were scrapped due to Liv Morgan’s legitimate shoulder injury. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer was at the show and was scheduled for an on-screen appearance.
The plan was for Nikki to get involved in the match between her new rival, Liv Morgan, and Kairi Sane. Her appearance would have continued the storyline that began with Morgan’s attack on Bella the previous week.
“Nikki Bella was there and she was going to do a run-in in the Liv Morgan-Kairi Sane match to help set up, you know, this next part of the angle,” Meltzer said. “But they decided, for whatever reason, I guess because they just everything was a panic at that point, and they probably didn’t, you know, put her out on a promo, because it’s like, Well, if she’s okay, which, you know, I mean, what do you say? So that’s why she was not on the show. Even though she’d been advertised all week, she was there.”
