The Greater Orlando Sports Commission has submitted a request for an $18 million grant from tourist development tax funds. The commission aims to secure four TKO events, split between the UFC and WWE.
This initiative builds on Orlando’s history of hosting significant WWE events, including WrestleMania XXIV and WrestleMania 33 at Camping World Stadium. The proposed events span from 2026 to 2031.
The commission’s bid includes hosting either WWE’s Survivor Series or Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Kia Center in 2026, followed by a UFC pay-per-view in 2027. In 2028, Orlando seeks to host the WWE Royal Rumble at Camping World Stadium. The biggest idea of their bid is to secure WrestleMania in 2031, with Camping World Stadium as the primary venue and the Kia Center hosting other events during WrestleMania week, including Raw and SmackDown shows.
Jason Siegel, president and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, revealed that this endeavor comes about nearly two years of discussions and strategic planning. He noted that other sports commissions, such as Indianapolis, have successfully secured similar events.
