If you watched WWE Raw last night, you may have noticed that Otis botched his line during his segment with Randy Orton and Matt Riddle.
During the Alpha Academy Academic Challenge segment, Otis was asked to spell the word “Emmental.” He spelled the word but forgot the letter “A” but because it was in the script that he got the word right, this was ignored.
Dave Meltzer discussed this on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer said, “He spelled it wrong but because it was scripted that he spelled it right, they said he spelled it right. So they played that gong thing and it was said that he won and he spelled it right because in the script he was gonna spell it right. He forgot how to spell it legit and spelled it wrong. Nobody said anything and then after because I guess probably the word got back that people figured this out, Corey Graves had to go in there and go ‘by the way, Otis got garbled when he was spelling it so therefore it’s not a correct answer and actually, Orton and Riddle won 2 to 0 and not 2 to 1.'”
After the segment, Orton defeated Chad Gable with the RKO in a singles match, with some help from Riddle.
It looks like the Alpha Academy-RK-Bro rematch for the Raw Tag Team Titles will be happening soon. No match has been announced for the Rumble as of yet which means that the match could happen on a future episode of Raw or at the Elimination Chamber show in Saudi Arabia.
