Former WWE Divas Champion and SmackDown General Manager Paige spoke with the Los Angeles Times to promote the release of Fighting With My Family.
This is where she spoke about Nia Jax having an incident that derailed one of the biggest planned matches of 2018 as then-SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was pulled from her scheduled champion vs. champion match against current WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November.
The reason for that was due to Lynch suffering a broken nose and concussion during the Raw invasion angle after getting punched out by Jax that saw Lynch suffer a “broken face” and concussion.
It turns out that Paige was the person to calm Jax down after the incident.
“I had to calm Nia down from that because she was like, ‘I feel like everyone is mad!'” Paige recalled. “And I said, ‘You know what? This elevated Becky so much too. And you’re about to turn heel anyways — so who cares?'”
