Paige and WWE may have worked things out for her return but it doesn’t look like she will be back in the ring anytime soon. As we noted before, Paige was dealing with back and neck issues before her wellness policy suspension. On the most recent MSL & Sullivan podcast, MSL said that Paige has not yet been cleared medically to return to the ring. Paige’s brother said on Facebook that she would be on this coming Monday’s Raw so we’ll see what happens. If she does appear on the show then it would likely be in a non-physical role.
Paige probably wants to put all of the reports to bed and get back to work and she just finished up with her 30-day suspension for violating the wellness policy. Her claim is that she made the effort to meet with the drug testing company when they looked for her but those with knowledge of the situation say that, while she did pass the test, she did not take her drug test until several days later. There were a lot of questions about her future with the company since it was well known that her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio (now Alberto El Patron) was leaving the company and, at one point, she did quit the company but cooler heads prevailed and she decided to stay. WWE would have been legally able to keep her from working elsewhere until her contract expired in 2019.
On a related note, it turns out that WWE was strongly considering firing her several weeks ago. For more on that, click here.
