Paige had an interesting 2018 with full of ups and downs with her career and future in the WWE. She deserves a ton of credit with the way that she handled it and turned a negative situation into a positive one.
Last December, her in-ring career ended when she was in a six-woman tag match back at a live event that needed to be called off after she took a hard kick to the back from former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks that she wasn’t ready for and it stunned her. The belief at first was it was just a mild stinger, leading to her losing feeling in her extremities.
It led to WWE pulling her from the ring and set up further testing that eventually ended once it was decided that she would not be cleared by WWE doctors to wrestle again.
Paige then made a transition from an in-ring competitor to a manager and later the General Manager of SmackDown Live. She took to her official Twitter account where she reflected on how it has been one year since she last competed. The former 3-time WWE Women’s Champion wrote the following:
“One year since the night in Uniondale. So crazy how quickly time passes. 2019 is gonna be a wonderful year. I can feel it”.
