WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque announced during Wednesday’s Netflix & WWE Lunch and Learn presentation that Pat McAfee will be returning to WWE as a full-time member of the Monday Night Raw broadcast team.
McAfee, a former NFL punter and popular sports personality, took a hiatus from WWE earlier this year to host ESPN’s College GameDay. He previously served on the Raw and SmackDown broadcast teams, bringing his energetic and charismatic style to commentary.
“Letting the cat out of the bag a little bit right now, Pat’s actually about to come back with us here, full-time on Monday Night Raw,” Triple H revealed during the presentation.
The current Raw broadcast team consists of Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett. It remains unclear how WWE will adjust the team to accommodate McAfee’s return.
While an exact date for McAfee’s return wasn’t given, it’s worth noting that WWE Raw will be making its Netflix debut on January 6, 2025. With the NCAA football season, including playoffs, running through January 20, 2025, McAfee may be balancing his commitments to both ESPN and WWE initially.
