Pat McAfee posted a video on X shortly after his surprise appearance on SmackDown, doubling down on his worked shoot promo and saying he will never return to wrestling television if Randy Orton loses at WrestleMania.
“How about that, marks?” McAfee said in the video posted to @ThePatMcAfeeShow. “Never back on any wrestling television if Randy Orton loses at WrestleMania. I don’t know how long the business will last if that happens, but I will never come back.”
McAfee said he is in WWE on a mission to motivate Orton to lead the company. “I am here on a mission to motivate a 6’5, 270, 280-pound monster to lead the WWE,” McAfee said. “My friend, the Legend Killer, the GOAT, Randy Orton.”
McAfee also plugged WrestleMania ticket sales, calling the Orton vs. Cody Rhodes match the most important match in the history of the business. “Tickets available now,” McAfee said. “Most important match in the history of this business happens in Las Vegas, Nevada. Come watch it live.”
The video came after McAfee was revealed as Orton’s mystery caller earlier in the night on SmackDown in St. Louis. McAfee attacked Cody Rhodes with a low blow and delivered a promo in which he called the current WWE product “absolute sh*t,” said SmackDown is coming off its worst ratings, called the champion “a puppet,” and said Orton is going to “save the f**king business.”
The mystery caller angle had been building since the March 16 episode of Raw.
I will make a deal with the IWC now..
If @RandyOrton doesn’t win at Mania.. I will NEVER be seen OR HEARD on wrestling television AGAIN.@BustedOpenRadio @WrestleOps @WrestleTalk_TV @twcworldwide @Fightful @BehindTheBuckle @EliteClubS0B pic.twitter.com/dnn44ftMha
