Patrick Clark (The Velveteen Dream) pulled from indie show

Former WWE NXT star Patrick Clark (The Velveteen Dream) was slated to make his first non-WWE appearance since he was released. Clark had been advertised to appear at Superstars of Wrestling Federation’s Home Sweet show on September 11th.

The announcement read like, “SWF wrestling and The Trifecta are happy to announce FKA Velveteen Dream will be making his first wrestling appearance since his WWE departure live on September 11 at SWF Wrestling’s Home Sweet Home event at the Tom’s River YMCA.”

However, Rob Fury, the owner of the promotion, issued a statement noting that due to complaints from fans, Dream had been pulled from the show.

“Tonight we announced Velveteen Dream would be appearing at our Home Sweet Home event. I believe any man can be slandered and have been through other situations in my life unrelated but untrue. After careful consideration, Dream has been removed.”

While many thought he was released due to the allegations made against him last year where he was accused of having inappropriate contact with minors, it was later reported that the decision was made because of an incident with a top star in the company.
