Paul Heyman recently shared his thoughts on the injury status of Bron Breakker, who is currently sidelined following emergency surgery for a hernia. Breakker, a member of Heyman’s stable, The Vision—which also includes Austin Theory, Logan Paul, and the recently injured Bronson Reed—suffered the injury earlier this month, casting doubt on his availability for WrestleMania 42.
During an appearance on Busted Open, Heyman described the injury as “aggravated beyond description” and discussed the mental toll that missing a “ridiculously enormous spotlight” at WrestleMania will have on the young star Heyman noted that he actually wants the experience to “eat him up alive,” believing it will result in a more dangerous version of Breakker upon his return.
“He’s gonna come out hungrier than ever because now he understands what it’s like to miss out, and that’s just going to be something for him that’s gonna f*ck with his head and f*ck with his head to the point that when he comes back, he’s going to appreciate this even more than he already does. There is never the right time to get injured. It’s always, ‘Oh man, of all days to get injured, this would be the worst time to get injured’ and that’s the day you get injured. It would be like breaking your ankle right before our first pay-per-view… Of all the times to break your ankle, that was the worst time for you to break your ankle. It’s the same thing for Bron Breakker. Headed into a ridiculously enormous spotlight at WrestleMania and then comes this hernia that he aggravated beyond description to the point where they had to have emergency surgery. So, what’s gonna happen is that every day that he’s home right now, it’s eating him up alive. Great. I want that for him,” Heyman stated.
The injury situation for The Vision worsened significantly on the February 23 episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. During a triple threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Jey Uso and “The Original” El Grande Americano, Bronson Reed suffered a legitimate distal bicep tear. The injury occurred when Reed landed awkwardly while breaking up a pinfall attempt, and WWE has since announced that he is out of action indefinitely.
The double blow of losing both Breakker and Reed has left The Vision in crisis as the company heads toward Elimination Chamber this Saturday in Chicago. Reed was the original planned winner of the qualifying match before the injury forced a change on the fly, allowing Jey Uso to secure the final spot in the chamber. With only Austin Theory and Logan Paul currently active for the group, Heyman is left to manage a severely depleted roster on the Road to WrestleMania.
