Paul Heyman is out of WWE creative, Bruce Prichard will take over at Raw with writing teams consolidated

There is another shakeup in WWE’s creative process.

WWE has announced that the creative teams for both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown will be consolidated with Bruce Prichard overseeing the process for both brands. Paul Heyman will no longer oversee the creative process on Raw but will remain with the company as an on-air performer.

There is no word yet on what led to this change but it’s no secret that Vince McMahon has been under pressure to get the ratings back up as they have dipped during the months of the pandemic with no fans in attendance.

Brock Lesnar is expected back sometime in late July or early August for the build to SummerSlam so that is likely when fans will see Heyman on TV again.

We will post updates on this story when we hear more.

Here is the full statement from WWE:

“In an effort to streamline our creative writing process for television, we have consolidated both teams from Raw and SmackDown into one group, led by Bruce Prichard. Paul Heyman will concentrate on his role as an in-ring performer.”
