Paul Heyman has officially accepted the challenge laid out by Roman Reigns, confirming a massive tag team match for WWE SummerSlam. In a video posted by Adam Glyn on TikTok, Heyman, on behalf of his clients Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, accepted the challenge to face Reigns and his cousin, Jey Uso, at the two-night premium live event.
The impromptu interview took place as Heyman was walking on the street, and he did not mince words in his response to his former Tribal Chief.
“Roman Reigns Has Picked His Poison”
“My thoughts are Roman Reigns has picked his poison,” Heyman began. “Now Roman Reigns can pick the date, Saturday or Sunday. It doesn’t matter to us. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed accept the challenge of Roman Reigns and Jey Uso for SummerSlam.”
Heyman then delivered a chilling promise for what will happen to Reigns and Uso at MetLife Stadium, which is famously located in the New Jersey Meadowlands. “Welcome to my island of relevancy and right over the bridge in New Jersey, we’ll leave them both buried next to Jimmy Hoffa,” he declared.
When Glyn asked if the match was now official, Heyman gave a definitive and characteristic response. “Is it official? Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman. If I say it, it’s biblical b*tches,” he stated.
An Escalating Rivalry
The challenge stems from the chaotic closing segment of this past Monday’s episode of Raw. The show ended with Roman Reigns and Jey Uso reuniting to fend off a two-on-one attack from Breakker and Reed. The cousins stood tall in the ring, and it was widely expected that a tag team match would be made for SummerSlam. Reigns issued the challenge on Tuesday on TikTok. Heyman’s acceptance now makes that match a reality and this will be Reigns’ first match since WrestleMania.
