Paul Heyman reveals why he was picked to induct Goldberg into the WWE Hall Of Fame

Last week, we wrote about Goldberg being inducted into this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame by Paul Heyman and the reason why they chose Heyman to do the honors. Basically, Heyman and Goldberg are friends but there is more to the story.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also noted that Heyman largely produced Goldberg’s material during his run last year and he helped put together the angles and matches for all of the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar bouts.

In a recent interview with DigitalSpy.com, Heyman said, “I am inducting Goldberg because that was Bill Goldberg’s specific request to WWE. Bill Goldberg personally requested that I induct him into the Hall of Fame. I have such respect for Goldberg as so far the one person who has truly taken the fight to Brock Lesnar in WWE.”

Heyman added, “I also got a chance to witness him behind the scenes as a man, a husband, a father and I have the utmost respect for him as a human being and am honoured to be the one to encapsulate this moment for him and be the one to formally induct him into the Hall of Fame.”

So, for anyone wondering what the connection is between Heyman and Goldberg, there is no connection storyline-wise but there is one in real life.

Here is are the list of names that will be inducted this Friday night:

Goldberg (inducted by Paul Heyman)
Mark Henry
Jeff Jarrett (inducted by Road Dogg)
Ivory (inducted by Molly Holly)
The Dudley Boyz (inducted by Edge and Christian)
Hillbilly Jim (inducted by Jimmy Hart
Celebrity inductee Kid Rock
Warrior Award recipient Jarrius “JJ” Williams

There’s no word yet on who will be inducting Henry and Kid Rock.
