Paul Heyman’s arrival on Friday Night SmackDown as the advocate for Roman Reigns raises questions on AJ Styles’ future on the brand.
Styles asked to be moved away from Monday Night Raw to SmackDown because he could not work under Heyman. There is legitimate heat from Styles to Heyman because Styles believes that Heyman had a lot to do with his best friends Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson being released. WWE sources indicated that Heyman did not know that they were going to be released until after the news broke on WWE.com.
Styles has been open about not wanting to work around Heyman so it looks like a roster move will be needed, perhaps as soon as the WWE Draft in October. This was discussed this morning on Wrestling Observer Radio by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez.
Meltzer said, “What’s interesting is with AJ and all that is does Reigns go to Raw in the draft or does AJ go to Raw or does neither of them go to Raw in the draft. But with Reigns as a heel, AJ is not the top heel there anymore so AJ can go over but McIntyre is gonna need new opponents unless Orton wins. But then Orton is gonna need new opponents because it’s not like there’s a whole plethora of babyfaces on that side either. There’s a lot of shake-ups that are needed, I guess come in October.”
Reigns is scheduled to feud with Wyatt for the next couple of months and it looks like Styles will be involved with Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy in a feud for the Intercontinental Championship. Click here for spoiler news on big plans for Reigns.
