Peacock Price Increase Coming Next Week Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

A planned price increase for Peacock, the exclusive streaming home of the WWE Network in the United States, will go into effect next week, just ahead of one of the biggest events of the year, SummerSlam.

New Peacock Subscription Pricing

Starting Wednesday, July 23, the price for the Peacock Premium plan, which includes ads, will increase by $3 to a new price of $10.99 per month. The Premium Plus plan, which features limited ads in live programming, will also see a $3 increase, bringing its new monthly cost to $16.99. The annual subscription prices will also be adjusted, with the Premium tier now costing $109.99 per year and the Premium Plus tier priced at $169.99 per year.

Peacock’s Growth and WWE’s Role

This marks the third price increase for the service in as many years. The NBCUniversal streaming service, which launched in 2020, has seen significant growth, recently reporting a new milestone of 35 million subscribers. A major part of that growth is attributed to its partnership with WWE. In 2021, Peacock became the exclusive streaming home for the WWE Network in the United States in a landmark deal. This moved all of WWE’s live Premium Live Events, as well as the company’s extensive historical content library, to the platform. Despite the price increase, the service remains the only way for fans in the United States to stream major events like WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble, and the upcoming SummerSlam.

New “Select” Tier and WWE SummerSlam

In addition to the price hikes, NBCUniversal is testing a new, more affordable option called Peacock “Select,” which will be priced at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. This plan will reportedly feature current seasons of NBC and Bravo shows, along with an assortment of library titles.

The price change comes just ahead of WWE SummerSlam, a two-night event scheduled for Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, live from MetLife Stadium. The card is set to feature several major matches, including a Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship between John Cena and Cody Rhodes, and a “Blood vs. Blood” Steel Cage match for the United States Championship between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
