Penta El Zero Miedo Says Report About Him Going To WWE PC Is “Fake News”

The Lucha Bros. (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) have been in the headlines for the last week as their AEW deals are due soon, and WWE is interested in them.

There was a report that Penta was headed to Orlando, FL, this week, which led to fans speculating that he was going to the WWE Performance Center since it’s in the city, even though he is still under contract with AEW. He shot down the speculation via Twitter when he wrote, “no more gossip! my present is aew!”

Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline first reported that AEW internally believes Lucha Bros. will leave the company for WWE once they are free and clear of their AEW deals. Fightful reported that those they spoke with believe Lucha Bros. are leaving but want to join WWE as a duo and not be sent to NXT. It was added that  Penta openly told some close to him that he’d already had conversations with WWE earlier this summer.

Fightful reported today that Penta wanting to join WWE with Fenix isn’t an issue since they’re also interested in Fenix. They were also told that Penta would be in Orlando this week but didn’t specify if it was a Performance Center visit.

Several from the AEW side said they suspected something like this had happened but were still shocked to see it in print. They’d offered Lucha Bros. a new deal, supposedly the same as what Penta has told people WWE is willing to provide.

From the AEW side, it was said that “there were several who said they suspected something like this had happened but still were shocked to see it in print.”

Remember that various details are still not confirmed because WWE wants to avoid contract tampering. Those claims from Penta to friends also claimed his deal had already expired, although he remains on the AEW roster.

To make things more interesting, several within AEW said that if his deal actually hasn’t expired, AEW could tack on injury time to both. It was claimed within AEW that the tag team didn’t want to do business in the appropriate ways, and many exited the company. AEW sources believe Penta pushing back on the reports was a way that Fenix would be able to leave AEW without contractual hurdles.
