People in WWE are pushing for big changes to the NXT TV format

There are people in WWE pushing for changes on the NXT former. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the suggestion has been made for NXT’s weekly TV show to extend to two hours and for the Takeover shows to go longer.

The reason for these suggested changes is because they have so much talent. It is true that the roster is stacked more than it’s ever been in the past and it looks like they are continuing to add talent without letting anyone go. They also have a large group of names at the Performance Center waiting to get the show on NXT TV.

The problem with extending the Takeover shows is that the 5 match format works and fans love it whereas fans watching the main roster pay-per-views oftentimes complain about the shows being too long. Would they want to risk the easy flow of the show to add another hour?

Another problem with expanding the Takeover shows is that fans are already expected to sit for an hour before the live broadcast because that is when they tape the next week of NXT TV.

There’s no word on if any of these changes are being seriously considered.
