In a new twist to the ongoing saga of Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s WWE status, a new report from WrestleVotes indicates that some within WWE corporate believe the duo’s recent departure is legitimate. This directly contradicts a previous report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who stated that some within the company believe the situation is an elaborate storyline, or “work”.
WWE Corporate Believes They’re Gone
According to the new report from the trusted wrestling insider account WrestleVotes, the belief among some employees on the business side of WWE is that Kross and Scarlett are no longer with the company. “For what it’s worth, there are people within WWE corporate — with no ties to creative or anything storyline-wise — who are under the impression that Karrion Kross and Scarlett are no longer with the company,” the report stated. The distinction that these sources have “no ties to creative” is significant, as it suggests their belief is based on official internal communication rather than a storyline they are not privy to.
A Contradictory Report
This new information directly conflicts with what Dave Meltzer reported earlier in the week on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer stated that he had heard from people within WWE who were under the impression that the entire situation, including the public contract dispute and their removal from the active roster, was a storyline designed to blur the lines of reality.

A Week of Confusion
These conflicting reports from within WWE itself only add to the confusion surrounding the duo’s future. It is already known that their contracts expired on August 10 and that they have been moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. In a statement of his own, Kross recently refuted reports that he had been offered a new deal, but also expressed his hope to return to the company.
The situation leaves fans and the wider wrestling industry in a state of uncertainty. All the public-facing moves made by WWE—moving Kross and Scarlett to the alumni page, removing their theme music from streaming platforms—point to a legitimate departure.
Kross and Scarlett announced on Sunday that they are now taking independent bookings.
