However, he turned into a fan favorite once he competed in the tournament in order to crown the inaugural WWE NXT UK Champion last year and later became the champ of the brand after beating Tyler Bate. Since then, he has worked matches on NXT television and used in a reduced role while he continued to work on the indie scene. Now, he has become the face of the NXT UK brand that was recently launched.
Not only because of his character, promo, and in-ring skills but the fact that he has been used differently under the leadership of Triple H that has turned him into a popular star with fans.
The fact that he is not overexposed on television is something that he thinks has benefited him while under the WWE banner. He talked about this during a recent interview with the Metro Sport.
“It’s been crucial, and I believe that’s the future. On the main roster it’s more difficult to avoid that exposure, but outside of that with the growth of NXT brands all over the world, I think that’s the key. If I can travel round and keep this going for another few years without feeling that massive amount of exposure, it only builds a stronger fanbase. So when you are finally getting ready to get on the main roster, it’s a more exciting prospect.”
