PHOTO: Former WWE Star Spotted Backstage At Evolution

Among the many current and legendary superstars present for last night’s WWE Evolution premium live event, one former star from the late 2000s was also spotted backstage. Cherry, who was released from her WWE contract in 2008, was seen in a photo shared by Natalya.

Cherry Spotted Backstage At Evolution

In a photo posted to her Instagram Stories, Natalya appeared alongside her tag team partner, Maxxine Dupri, and their former colleague, Cherry. The photo was taken backstage at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta during the all-women’s event. The appearance was notable as Cherry and Natalya had a rivalry on SmackDown throughout 2008.

A Look Back At Cherry’s WWE Career

Cherry signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2006 and came to prominence as the manager for the 1950s-inspired tag team, Deuce ‘n Domino. She eventually transitioned into an in-ring competitor herself. Her final televised match was on the August 5, 2008, episode of WWE SmackDown, where she teamed with Maria and Michelle McCool in a losing effort against Natalya, Maryse, and Victoria.

The photo was taken on a busy night for Natalya and Maxxine Dupri, who team together as the Dungeon Dolls. Both women competed in the battle royal at Evolution, which was held to determine a new number one contender for a world championship match at Clash in Paris. While both were eliminated, the match was ultimately won by Stephanie Vaquer, who will now go on to the championship match on August 31.
