WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is preparing for his final match in 2025 as he got back into the ring. He hopes to have his retirement match in the summer. Goldberg last wrestled in 2022, losing to Roman Reigns at the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE.
This past October, he confronted World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER at Bad Blood. Goldberg spoke about his plans while being interviewed by Ariel Helwani, noting that the options for his retirement opponent are endless, from Bron Breakker to GUNTHER. Goldberg stated that a match with GUNTHER would be like passing the torch. For more on that, click here.
Dave Meltzer previously reported that “The original plan was for his last match to be against GUNTHER, likely after GUNTHER drops the title.” As of this writing, it’s unclear whether those plans are still in place.
Goldberg noted on Instagram that he has begun training for his retirement match. He’s training with several people, including Kevin Von Erich and Tyrone Spong.
In the caption, Goldberg wrote: “And the grind begins…..assembling my inring crew🤫 @goldberg21_99 @ramvonerich @coachjimmyhouse @thekevinvonerich @black_diamond_martial_arts @tyrone_spong.”
