PHOTO: Roman Reigns Spotted In Australia Amid WWE Absence

Former Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns has been spotted publicly for the first time since being written off of WWE television with a storyline injury. A new photo shows “The Tribal Chief” in Australia, where he is currently on location filming his role in the upcoming “Street Fighter” movie.

In the photo, Reigns is seen alongside the film’s director, Kitao Sakurai. Reigns is set to play the role of the powerful and villainous character, Akuma, one of the alternative bosses in the “Street Fighter” series. Check it out below:

Reigns was last seen on WWE programming at the Clash in Paris premium live event on August 31. After defeating Bronson Reed in a hard-fought singles match to open the show, Reigns was part of a brutal post-match assault. Reed and his associate in The Vision, Bron Breakker, attacked Reigns, with Breakker delivering two spears and Reed hitting three Tsunami splashes. The attack concluded with Reigns being stretchered out of the arena.

On the following episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Reigns had suffered multiple fractured ribs in the storyline and would be out of action “indefinitely.” This on-screen injury was designed to cover his absence from WWE programming while he fulfills his filming commitments for the movie.

The movie also features the current Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, who has already completed his filming for the project. Rhodes was spotted in Australia last month and made his return to WWE programming on the September 12 episode of SmackDown.
