PHOTOS: Rhea Ripley Shows Off Stitched Leg Wound After ER Visit

Rhea Ripley made an unexpected trip to the emergency room this week, and she did not shy away from showing fans exactly why.

Ripley’s long-time partner Buddy Matthews first tipped off fans on Wednesday by posting a photo on his Instagram of Ripley sitting in a hospital bed and flipping off the camera, captioning the image with a single word: “Wasted.”

Ripley later revealed the injury herself on her Instagram Stories, warning followers before sharing the image.

“What an eventful day,” Ripley wrote. “If you have a weak stomach or don’t like injuries, please don’t look at my next story.”

The following slide showed a large gash on her leg, with a smaller image in the corner showing the wound stitched up. “Nice little detour to the emergency room for me today,” Ripley wrote alongside the photo. She did not elaborate on how the injury occurred.

The injury does not appear to be severe enough to jeopardize her WrestleMania 42 match. Ripley challenges WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill on night one on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The rivalry between the two has been one of the more heated buildups heading into the show. After Ripley earned her title shot by winning the women’s Elimination Chamber match, Cargill took to social media to accuse Ripley of benefiting from favoritism from WWE creative. Ripley responded by calling out Cargill for a lack of title defenses. The back-and-forth eventually drew in other members of the women’s roster, with Cargill enlisting Michin and B-Fab while Ripley brought in her former tag team partner IYO SKY as backup.
