Plans changed for closing match at WWE Hell in a Cell

WWE has decided to change which match will serve as the main event of this year’s Hell in a Cell show.

Mike Johnson of Pwinsider.com noted that as of Saturday morning, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell was slated to close the show.

This will be the first WWE pay-per-view event to not have Roman Reigns featured in the headlining role since making his return in August. “The Big Dog” will defend the Universal Title inside of the structure against Jey Uso.

Just last month, WrestleVotes reported that Sasha Banks vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley was slated to be in the headliner. As most people know, plans change all of the time in WWE.

If WWE didn’t change plans then this would’ve been the second time that Banks headlined a Hell in a Cell pay-per-view as she had done just that in 2018 in what most people consider to be a classic match with Charlotte Flair. This was the first-ever Hell in a Cell match featuring women.

As of this writing, WWE has only announced five matches for this show.
