WWE Changes Plans For Title Match On SmackDown, Tournament To Kick Off

It appears that plans for tonight’s WWE SmackDown will be changing for a second straight week.

Last week, WWE changed its plans because of the late addition of The Rock. WrestleVotes reports the United States Championship match between Shinsuke Nakamura and LA Knight may be changing in some form.

It was added that they were told SmackDown’s plans are still being finalized. WWE previously confirmed WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green against an unknown opponent.

PWInsider.com reports that Smackdown will feature a tournament to crown a top contender for the United States Championship. The current plan is to feature several first-round matches and then a Triple Threat bout with the winners. The current first-round matches are:

-LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar.

-Jacob Fatu vs. Andrade.

-Carmelo Hayes vs. Braun Strowman.
