Positive News On CM Punk After Injury Scare

A new report from PWInsiderElite.com has provided an update on the status of CM Punk following a moment on this past week’s Monday Night Raw that had some fans concerned. The report states that there is no indication that Punk was injured during a spot where he appeared to land awkwardly while exiting the ring during a commercial break.

The incident occurred during the September 8 episode of Raw from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During a commercial break, fan footage captured Punk exiting the ring and appearing to hit his back on the ring apron on his way to the floor. The moment quickly began to circulate on social media, with fans expressing their concern over a potential injury, especially given Punk’s history with significant injuries since his return to wrestling in 2021, when he joined AEW.

However, according to the new report, there is no truth to the injury speculation. “In asking around today, we are told no one heard anything about Punk being hurt and everyone dismissed it as one of those stories that spread online but have no bearing in fact,” the report states.

Punk has also had moments of bad luck with injuries since his return to WWE in 2023 as he suffered a torn triceps in the 2024 Royal Rumble match, which kept him out of action for several months. Punk is currently in a feud with the husband-and-wife duo of World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. The rivalry took a turn on last week’s SmackDown with the shocking return of Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, who confronted Lynch.

A mixed tag team match pitting the two couples against each other has been made official for the upcoming Wrestlepalooza premium live event on September 20. The full report from PWInsider can be found on their elite subscription service.
