Positive update on WWE’s Cody Rhodes’ recovery from injury

Cody Rhodes was off to a hot start to his WWE return before being sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle.

Rhodes was pushed as a top star, and he went on to have solid matches with Seth Rollins, with his last match happening at Hell in a Cell before he underwent surgery for the injury.

Once he was sidelined, there was speculation that he could make his WWE return at the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the American Nightmare’s recovery seems to be on the right track, as “Rhodes’ recovery is going well.”

Meltzer added, “he’s back to normal when it comes to his ability to train and left. No word when he’ll return given it makes sense for it to be a surprise.”

A pectoral muscle tear typically keeps one out of action for six to nine months. Rhodes has publicly stated that his medical team has purposely not given him a recovery time to prevent him from pushing himself too hard.

The WWE Royal Rumble takes place on January 28.
