As previously noted, WWE has officially announced that they will be returning to India for shows on December 8 and 9. They will be Raw-branded shows but because they are looking to expand their brand in that country, they are also flying WWE Champion Jinder Mahal for those shows. We noted before that the plan was for Mahal to wrestle in India as the WWE Champion. However, there is a chance that he will drop the title to Shinsuke Nakamura on Sunday and then win it back before the India tour.
On Thursday's Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that there are advertisements out in India that list Mahal as a 2-time WWE Champion. Was that a mistake or did the advertisements leak out early? If Mahal loses the title on Sunday, then they have several weeks of Smackdown Live shows to put the title back on him. They can also put it back on him at the Survivor Series on 11/19 in Houston, TX. I guess we'll find out on Sunday but Mahal's attack on Nakamura on Tuesday certainly hints at him losing at HIAC.
The top stars advertised for the shows in India include Jinder Mahal, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, The Miz, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Braun Strowman, and Alexa Bliss. The Singh Brothers are also expected to be on those shows.
On a related note, one of the top Smackdown Live stars could be moving to Monday Night Raw. Click here if you want details on that story.
