Potential Spoiler For WWE Backlash

Former New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and Lucha Underground powerhouse Jeff Cobb is reportedly expected to begin his WWE tenure very soon, according to a new report from PWInsider.com. The highly sought-after free agent’s arrival appears imminent.

The report specifically notes that some people within WWE anticipate Cobb will be present at the Backlash premium live event this Saturday, May 10th, in St. Louis. However, PWInsider clarifies that whether Cobb makes an on-camera appearance at the show remains to be seen at this time.

Despite uncertainty about an immediate on-screen debut this weekend, his presence is reportedly expected. Furthermore, the report states that creative plans for Cobb’s official WWE debut have been actively discussed in recent weeks, signaling the company is preparing for his integration onto the roster.

Cobb brings a unique background to WWE, having represented Guam as a freestyle wrestler in the 2004 Olympics. He gained widespread recognition in Lucha Underground as the monstrous Matanza Cueto before starring in NJPW, where he was a member of the United Empire and captured IWGP Tag Team and NEVER Openweight gold. His addition would significantly bolster WWE’s roster with his incredible strength and agility.
