There is always speculation as to who could be brought in for the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view whether that be legends, NXT stars, and returning wrestlers.
WWE decided to announce a lot of returning stars and legends for the women’s Royal Rumble match in advance. Fightful Select reported today that several wrestlers are under the belief Asuka will make her return at the Royal Rumble for the match.
This has yet to be confirmed, but her name was at least discussed internally as a potential Royal Rumble entrant. WWE typically keeps returns a secret and not responsive to inquiries about potential surprises so this may not be confirmed leading up to the show.
Asuka has been on the sidelines since WWE Money in the Bank way back in July. Last August, she took to Twitter to note that the reason she hadn’t been featured on WWE programming was due to creative not having anything for her.
Charlotte Flair, Mickie James, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Summer Rae, Lita, Rhea Ripley, Nikki A.S.H, Shotzi, Natalya, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Zelina Vega, Tamina, Aliyah, Naomi, Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan have been confirmed for the women’s Royal Rumble match, which leaves 9 remaining spots.
