Potential spoiler on who is likely to replace Baron Corbin as WWE Raw GM

Several weeks ago, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle essentially lost his General Manager position to Baron Corbin on Monday Night Raw. Corbin has been running the show for the past several weeks after falling into the good graces of Stephanie McMahon. He made quite the case to make his position permanent, as Team Raw swept SmackDown Live with a margin of 6-0 at Survivor Series last weekend. Well, technically it was a 6-1 victory but WWE is not counting the Kickoff show match. Corbin is expected to face Braun Strowman at the Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view next month.

Should Corbin win, his position as Raw General Manager will become permanent. If Strowman wins, he’ll receive his desired Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. It’s expected, of course, that Strowman will win the match and go on to feud with “The Beast” in January. Mike Johnson of PWInsider recently addressed the situation on PWInsider Elite. He mentioned that the rumor going around backstage is that the injured Alexa Bliss could actually take over for Corbin as Raw General Manager.

While WWE was in Los Angeles last weekend, Bliss underwent medical testing, and there’s still no clear indication as to when she’ll be returning to the ring. Johnson noted that this doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen, and this isn’t a similar situation to that of SmackDown Live General Manager Paige, who is medically suspended from ever competing for WWE inside the ring again. Johnson ended by noting that, given how frequently WWE changes plans, and TLC is weeks away, he doesn’t know if this is “100 percent” the plan.

There are a lot of moving pieces right now due to injuries. If Strowman is not cleared by the TLC pay-per-view then WWE will have to figure out a replacement for him and another way to get him on track for the rematch with Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
