Potential timeline on when WWE could take NXT TV on the road

Many fans believe that WWE needs to take NXT on the road for their weekly television events on the USA Network. It appears that the company is making plans to do so.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “there is a lot of talk regarding taking NXT on the road every Wednesday and looking at 5,000-seat buildings, similar to AEW. The target seems to be January, because WWE has inquired about buildings of that size to shoot television on Wednesday nights.”

It was noted that there was talk of NXT only running events weekly in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University even before the head-to-head competition with AEW started because WWE had no time to set things up. it was added that a move to different arenas would take place in early 2020.

As previously reported, once the ratings came out for the first week of going up against AEW, WWE thought it was the location that made them lose as they put on a loaded show and spent two weeks worth of building it up.

AEW Dynamite has defeated NXT two weeks in a row in the ratings.
