Nickelodeon executives must be happy after the viewership numbers surfaced after the premiere episode of “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” that aired on June 10th.
The episode drew 1.1 million viewers and scored high in multiple demographics that includes kids and 18 to 49-year-olds. Former WWE Champion John Cena hosts as well as serves as an executive producer for the show.
This is a reboot of the show that was hosted by Jeff Foxworthy when it aired on the Fox network from 2007 to 2011 and in 2015 when it was picked up in syndication. The show features kids helping adults answer questions from elementary school textbooks with a $1,000,000 maximum cash prize. The new version has a top prize of $100,000 and a few rule changes.
Outside of the WWE, Cena continues to find success in his acting career as it was recently announced that he would join “Fast & Furious 9” cast.
