The premiere episode of the “Young Rock” television series made its debut on Tuesday night on NBC in the 8pm EST timeslot.
It drew 5.034 million viewers and did a 0.90 rating in the key 18-49 demographic in the overnight ratings. It was ranked #2 for the night in this demographic and placed third among all shows on network television in total viewership.
The synopsis of the new series reads like the following:
“Young Rock” focuses on different chapters of Dwayne Johnson’s life. From growing up in a strong and resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family, to playing football at the University of Miami, the show will explore the crazy rollercoaster that has shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the larger-than-life characters he’s met along the way.”
Dwayne Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa and John Tui star in the series.
Bradley Constant plays him when he was a 15-year-old while Uli Latukefu portrays him from the ages of 18 to 20.
