Production begins on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 starring Dave Bautista



James Gunn confirmed on social media that Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 started filming on Monday.

Gunn wrote and will be directing the movie. He’s the same writer and director of Suicide Squad as well as Peacemaker. Former WWE star Dave Bautista portrays Drax in the film.

He wrote, “It’s been a strange & long & at times challenging journey to get here, but the obstacles along the way have only made this moment more blissful. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting #gotgvol3.”

The movie will be released in 2023. The cast will also be filming The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special for Disney+, which will be released next year. Bautista has indicated these projects could be the end of his run as the character.

Also part of the cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket.

Bautista’s most recent film, “Dune,” drew big numbers at the box office. He also starred in the second season of “See.”
