Production To Begin Soon On The Rock’s Live-Action “Moana” Movie

The live-action adaptation of “Moana” is set to begin production soon, as revealed by The Rock.

Moana 2 is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 27, 2024. You can check out the trailer for it here. Both movies follow the smashing success of “Moana” in 2016.

In the Instagram post, he announced the cast, featuring Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina, and Rena Owen as Grandma Tala. Rock will reprise his role as Maui.

The movie will start production in August for a July 2026 release. It’s slated to be directed by  Thomas Kail. He wrote in the caption,
