CM Punk recently shared details about his expanding career in Hollywood. Following his departure from WWE over a decade ago in 2014, Punk took on several non-wrestling projects, including acting, writing comics, and starting his career as a UFC fighter. While Punk did not taste success in UFC, he made a name in acting. Recently, appearing on My Mom’s Basement to promote his upcoming movie Night Patrol, Punk opened up in detail about his next non-WWE project, a chance to direct a film.
“It’s been offered. It’s one of those things, a lot like writing comic books or fighting in the UFC. It was offered to me and it’s kind of unknown and scary, so now I have to do it. I think the VHS series is a pretty good way to get my feet wet in that regard,” Punk said. “It’s definitely something that is more than likely going to happen in the next year. I got to, it got offered to me, and I went ‘what why me?’ ‘Why not?’ Okay, now I’ve gotta do this.”
The movie Night Patrol features big actor Justin Long and is directed by Ryan Prows, who previously worked on the V/H/S/94 installment. Punk stars in the film as a police officer moonlighting as a vampire alongside a cast that includes Dermot Mulroney and Jermaine Fowler. The film is expected to debut in theaters on January 16, 2026. Since starring in his first film in 2013, Punk has starred in a total of seven films, with his latest being Zootopia 2, as well as several other television shows. In Zootopia 2, Punk voices a zebra police officer and teams up with Roman Reigns.
While his acting career continues to grow, Punk remains a top star in the wrestling world. He is the current World Heavyweight Champion and recently retained his title against Bron Breakker on the January 5, 2026, episode of Raw in Brooklyn, New York. The match featured heavy interference from The Vision, but Punk managed to secure the win after hitting the Go To Sleep.
