CM Punk To Defend World Heavyweight Championship Against Bron Breakker On January 5
WWE has locked in a massive main event for the first Monday Night Raw of 2026, which will mark the brand’s historic debut on Netflix. Following a controversial victory at Survivor Series: WarGames, Bron Breakker has been granted a shot at CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship on January 5, 2026.
The announcement came during a victory lap segment on Raw, where Paul Heyman led his faction, “The Vision,” alongside Logan Paul, to the ring. Heyman praised the team for their triumph inside the double cage the previous night, where they defeated the team of Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Usos.
“Nothing But A Soft Ass B*tch”
Bron Breakker took the microphone to address the champion directly, delivering a scathing promo that questioned Punk’s toughness. Breakker gloated about securing the winning pinfall at Survivor Series, mocking the ease with which he defeated the “Second City Saint.”
“I grew up watching Punk and now realize that Punk is nothing but a soft ass bitch,” Breakker stated. “It was so easy to pin Punk at WarGames.”
The Mystery of the Masked Man
Breakker also addressed the controversy surrounding the finish of the WarGames match. Reports indicate that a “masked assailant” jumped the cage and attacked Punk, directly leading to Breakker’s victory. Despite the footage, Breakker feigned ignorance regarding the identity of the person who assisted him.
“I don’t know who jumped the cage at WarGames,” Breakker claimed, dismissing the interference as inconsequential to his dominance.
