CM Punk Criticizes Roman Reigns Before Suffering Attack From The Usos On RAW

WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and The Usos engaged in a physical altercation during the final segment of Monday Night RAW in Seattle, Washington. The confrontation stemmed from comments CM Punk made the previous week regarding WWE star Roman Reigns and his late father, WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i.

CM Punk opened the segment by addressing the crowd and acknowledging that his recent remarks were viewed by some as disrespectful. He stated that Reigns has never shown him respect throughout his career and that he would force Reigns to respect his position as World Heavyweight Champion.

“Titles in this business are made to find out who are the best. Titles in sports are to find out who is the best,” CM Punk said. “This title was created because Roman shunned his championship opportunities and refused to defend his title.”

CM Punk continued his critique of Reigns’ championship reign, noting his own status as a fighting champion.

“You have to level up physically and verbally or you will be left dumbfounded and slack jawed like I did to Roman last week,” CM Punk said.

Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso then entered the ring and demanded an immediate apology from CM Punk. Jimmy Uso clarified that their presence was not directed by Reigns but was a matter of familial respect.

“This got nothing to do with Roman Reigns, but this has to do with respect,” Jimmy Uso said. “You call yourself the voice of the voiceless. You can speak trash about Roman all you want, but you disrespected our late uncle who has no voice.”

CM Punk responded by detailing his history with the Anoa’i family, noting his time learning from WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i and his interactions with other family members such as Samu and Lance. CM Punk expressed his respect for the family, with one specific exception.

“If you think Sika heard that, then he can see,” CM Punk stated. “He sees what he sees and that is what a lying conniving backstabbing manipulative, narcissistic person his son Roman is.”

Jey Uso reiterated the demand for an apology. CM Punk shook hands with both Jimmy and Jey Uso, initially saying, “I’m sorry,” before directing his comments back to Reigns’ treatment of The Usos.

“I am sorry that Roman treated you and the rest of your family like garbage for years and never apologized for the way he treated you,” CM Punk said. Punk said Roman never apologized for what Roman said about Dusty when Roman was feuding with Cody Rhodes.

CM Punk then directly challenged Reigns’ leadership and absence from the broadcast.

“I am sorry that Roman has made everyone think that he gives a damn,” CM Punk said. “If he cared about anything, he would be standing in the ring talking to me right now, instead of his young boys.”

Following this statement, Jimmy Uso punched CM Punk in the face, knocking him down to the mat. The Usos exited the ring as the broadcast concluded with the camera focused on CM Punk.
