CM Punk: “I’ll F**king Retire Whenever I Want To”

CM Punk has offered a blunt and direct response to a fan on social media who questioned when he plans to retire from professional wrestling. After seeing a comment made on TikTok, the former world champion made it clear that he will hang up his boots on his own terms and that he still has goals to accomplish in the industry.

When a fan on TikTok wondered when he would retire, Punk did not hold back in his reply. “I’ll fucking retire whenever I want to. There’s work to be done. And you’re gonna miss me when I’m gone. So shut the fuck up,” he said in a video for GQ. The comment comes shortly after a more reflective discussion on the subject during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, where he acknowledged that at 46 years old, retirement is “looming.”

During that podcast interview, Punk stated he is now more focused on being “in the now” and enjoying his current run, knowing it will not last forever. Punk has often spoken about wanting to end his career on his own terms and create a final chapter that solidifies his legacy.

CM Punk has match at the inaugural WWE Wrestlepalooza premium live event this Saturday, September 20. He is scheduled to team with his wife, AJ Lee, in her first wrestling match since retiring in 2015. The duo will face off against the married couple of World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
