WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is adding another credit to his growing acting resume. According to a report from Deadline, Punk has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy The Bodyguard. He joins a cast led by Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural), in a film based on Katherine Center’s 2022 bestselling novel.

Punk, credited as Phillip Jack Brooks, will take on the role of a character named “Doghouse.” The character is described as a “physically intimidating member of the security detail” who is known for both his loyalty and his humor. He joins a supporting cast that includes Andie MacDowell, country singer Walker Hayes, Noah LaLonde, and Toby Sandeman.

Plot And Production

The film follows a no-nonsense bodyguard (Meester) who is assigned to protect a charming action star (Padalecki) from a stalker during the holidays.
