CM Punk has shared the heartbreaking news that his dog, Larry, has passed away. The WWE superstar took to Instagram to announce the loss of his beloved pet, who had become a fixture in the wrestling world over the last several years. Punk shared a photo of Larry along with an emotional tribute, detailing the bond he and his wife, AJ Lee, shared with the rescue animal.
In his Instagram post, Punk expressed the depth of his grief and the joy Larry brought to their lives. “The grief we carry is the price we pay for unconditional love. Our little Larry crossed the rainbow bridge, wrapped tightly in our arms. He was safe and happy. Surrounded by love,” Punk wrote. He noted that they rescued Larry from PAWS Chicago in February 2015 and that the dog “changed our lives”.
Punk continued, emphasizing how difficult it was to put his feelings into words. “I could never in one million years find the words to properly express how much we loved him nor how much joy brought us. Nothing I write, no pictures I post would do him justice. He lived a long amazing life. He watched sunsets, he chased skate boards. He made everywhere we went with him home”.
Reflecting on the loss, Punk added, “What a privilege to be so heart broken and devastated for having experienced such a bond. I wouldn’t change anything. Our boy is at rest. The house is quiet but we still hear the jingle of his necklace and the tip taps of his little feet on the hardwood floors. He will always be near. We will always feel him. Our hearts are broken. Until we see you again, sweetest Bobo. We love you. Forever”.
Larry was more than just a pet; he became a legitimate figure in the wrestling industry. His popularity with WWE fans led to a successful line of merchandise on WWE Shop, including t-shirts and a plush toy. Larry’s merchandise sales were reportedly incredibly strong, at times outselling current superstars and legends on the roster. He was also immortalized as an action figure by Zombie Sailor Toys, further cementing his status as a fan favorite.
Larry was also integrated into major on-screen storylines. During CM Punk’s intense feud with Drew McIntyre in 2024, a friendship bracelet given to Punk by a fan became a focal point of the rivalry. The bracelet featured the names of Punk’s wife, AJ, and his dog, Larry. McIntyre stealing and eventually destroying the bracelet was used to generate significant heat, as it represented Punk’s love for his family.
Larry also became part of wrestling lore during CM Punk’s time in AEW. He was reportedly present during the infamous “Brawl Out” backstage altercation at All Out 2022. Reports at the time suggested that when Punk’s locker room door was allegedly kicked in during the confrontation, it may have accidentally struck Larry, leading to the removal of two teeth. Kenny Omega later stated in an interview that his primary concern during the chaotic incident was getting Larry to safety.
