A popular WWE television series is reportedly set to continue its run. According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the WWE Biography series is scheduled to return to A&E for another season. The current timetable for the premiere is reportedly around WrestleMania season.
The report states that the new season will consist of at least eight new episodes. This return will bolster WWE’s presence on the network, which has become the home for much of the company’s documentary-style programming. In addition to Biography, the report indicates that new seasons of WWE Rivals and WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures (often referred to as LFG in production listings) are also in the works.
CM Punk Rumored For New Season
WrestleVotes Radio reports that current WWE Superstar CM Punk is among the rumored subjects for the upcoming season. A documentary focused on the “Second City Saint” would likely cover his career, his departure in 2014, and his return to the company at Survivor Series in 2023.
The partnership between WWE and A&E has marked a significant shift in how the company handles its historical content. While WWE formerly produced most of its documentaries in-house for the WWE Network or DVD releases, it reached an advanced rights fee deal with A&E to take over the production and distribution of many of these long-form projects.
Previous seasons of WWE Biography have covered legends such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and The Undertaker. The series typically features in-depth interviews, archival footage, and a comprehensive look at the lives and careers of the industry’s biggest stars.
