The new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix has captured an emotional behind-the-scenes moment between CM Punk and Paul “Triple H” Levesque at WrestleMania 41, showcasing their positive and supportive working relationship.
A Pep Talk From The Game
In footage shown before Punk’s main event match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, Triple H is seen giving the star a passionate final pep talk. “I know what this means to you. You are f*cking CM Punk, you’ve always been a main event guy, always! F*cking go out there and do it!” Levesque told him. A grateful Punk responded, “Thank you, I don’t get here without you. I appreciate you, thank you for the opportunity.”
‘I F*cking Did It’
After the match, the docuseries captured an emotional Punk reflecting on the gravity of the moment. For the first time in his long career, he had competed in the main event of WrestleMania. “It’s everything I wanted since I wore Doc Martens in the ring because I couldn’t afford wrestling boots. It was everything I wanted since I was a little kid,” Punk said. “That’s all I ever wanted to do. I just did it. I f*cking did it.”
While Punk did not win the championship at WrestleMania 41, his main event performance has led to another major opportunity. This coming weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, Punk is scheduled to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship in what is expected to be one of the headline matches of the event.
