Beth Phoenix appeared on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw to give the fans a medical update on her husband Edge. She was quickly interrupted by Randy Orton’s music as he made his way to the ring.
Randy attempted to hug and then shake the hand of Beth but she declined and called him a “son of a b*tch.” Beth said she was appearing as a wife and mother and her children deserve their father.
Randy said that it is a certainty that Edge will never wrestle again. Orton said his father took him downtown to a WWE event in 1999 to get him connected in hopes of getting him into the wrestling business. Randy said he saw guys like Austin, Michaels, Triple H, Foley and Davey Boy Smith but the one man who showed his respect to his father Bob Orton was Edge. Edge told Bob Orton that he was one of the reasons why he got into the wrestling business.
Edge thanked Randy and told him good luck and maybe one day they could work together in the ring. Randy said he was insecure but became confident and he and Edge battled in pay-per-view main events several years later and they teamed up as RKO and became champions. Randy said he hit a rough patch and Edge pulled him out of that hole and saved his life. Orton said he returned the favor and saves his life by taking him out of wrestling.
Randy said now Edge can be there for his kids and he did it because he loves Edge, Beth and their two little girls. Randy said this is all Beth’s fault because she enabled her husband. She called Edge a junkie for the roar of the crowd and he had to make sure that he could go home and be a husband and a father.
Randy went on to say that he loves Edge more than Beth ever could. Beth fired back by slapping Randy in the face. Randy called her a “b*tch” and Beth went for a low blow but Randy hit the RKO on her to end the segment.
Edge is locally advertised to return on next week’s show.
